Lane assist and blind spot monitoring working together

Featured Replies

In my last couple of trips I've noticed something new I didn't know Superb will do but it does. If you have Lane Assist and Blind spot enabled and activated, when changing lanes with indicators on (Lane Assist will then disengage to let you change the lane) and someone is in your blind spot or just got out of it but yellow warning in side mirrors is still on, the car will not let you change the lane. It will give you the same force feedback on steering wheel as if you are trying to change the lane without indicating. You can test it by changing the lane right after someone has slowly overtaken you on motorway.

Did anyone else noticed this? Is this common knowledge here and if so, please delete this thread  :peek:

Yes, I have noticed that.  Also if you indicate to show your intention of changing lanes the lights in the mirror flash instead of staying on.

All good reminders but easily overridden, during travels through Germany I occasionally "slotted" in between cars in the outside lane and whilst to a human eye etc it was safe and fine the car was not impressed with the force feedback  occurring.  The sensors go a good distance in front and behind the car which is good.
