How hard is it to get off . Lacquer peeled paint perfect was going to re lacquer see how it looks

i'm going to be taking mine's off soon, just waiting on getting a dry day. There's an official VAG tool for doing it, same with the cleaning and glue for rebonding - they all share part numbers with the tools that remove, clean and rebond windscreens so i bought a windscreen removal wire, i already have a toffee wheel to remove the glue residue and i'm going to use Sikeflex or similar to rebond one it's painted.

Should be easy enough to do with a little bit of fidgeting to get the wire started and a bit of hard work to keep it moving. Just try very hard to not damage the paint on the tailgate itself.

Someone suggested to me on here to pour a boiling kettle over it to soften the glue but it made no difference i found

My painter asked me to remove my spoiler so he could repaint and relaquer to a higher standard than doing it in situ.

I am not keen on removing it though.

Think I'll ask him to try with it fitted.
