Honda Jazz - Anyone owned or driven one?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im after some opinions on the Honda Jazz. Im looking at a new 1.4 i-DSi Sport (in Storm Silver) to replace our Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec which has served us especially well over the last eight years. Its our second car (the Octy being our main one) and will be used primarily for 20 miles of town driving per day. We wanted something that was cheap to run, cheap to insure and reliable. We also wanted something that was as roomy as possible whilst sticking with a supermini sized car. I also have to say the way the Honda dealers have treated me so far (I have payed them a few visits to ask questions regarding the possible purchase) has been way above anything else Ive previously experienced!

Can anyone here share their experiences with the Jazz; good or bad?

Thanks in advance,

Lee

Go for it!

extremely good car....pretty nippy, loads of room inside & versatile..well equipped for the price and utterly reliable.....has won many friends in the motoring press and you know what they are like! ;-) ....the only slight negatives would be that some people complain of the tyre noise kicked up from the front wheels & the firm ride but it depends on what your used to!...take a drive and see for yourself! :-)

You want to look for at least

Hi Chris - many thanks for your comments, thats a welcome relief; I havent got it to wrong then! :o

Ive managed

yeah keep pushing hehe;) ....if you dont get any more money off suggest to them they can throw some of the options/accessories in for free!....even if u get a set of mats, mudflaps and a tank of fuel thats still around

Price is the only thing that put me off when I drove one. (second hand Jazz) We got a Micra for £1000 less and it was 2 years newer as well.

Gues that means Jazz residuals are good then.

Was hell of a car to drive though - a pleasure

Very Nice - Only thing was the bumpy ride - which I believe has been rectified in later models.

Good interior and very practical. Someone at work bought one last year and is well chuffed with it.

Hondas are my favourite Jap cars - If only they'd taken on MG Rover instead of BMW - but hey...

As for finance - this is a common cheat dealers do (Quote Flat Rate instead of APR) Always get the dealer to quote APR - I didn't once and ended up getting rather annoyed when I found out.

Well am I pleased I posted here guys! Thanks to all of you for the imput.

Firstly the finance was quoted as flat rate NOT APR so yes I fell like ive been a bit duped there! :(

If I cant get a 3.7%apr deal (which of course they wont be able to offer) then I will have to pull some options off the list to reduce my monthly payment. Damn shame but thanks for highlighting this guys.

I believe that Jazz residuals are amongst the best hence my rare decision to buy new - not that its massively important as when its sold on it'll probably be six + years old and have 50,000+ miles on it.

Cheers,

Lee
