New tyres

Featured Replies

Good afternoon

I am looking for the best / cheapest tyres for my audi s4 b8. Size 255/35/19 96y

I know that lots of friends here have contacts.

Can anyone help I'm in Merseyside

Thanks Andy

Best is either Goodyear F1A3, Michelin PSS/4 or Conti SC6. Anything less should be punishable by death :D

Ha ha, I know what you mean.

I have a quote of 140.49 and they come to you and fit

Andy

Cheap equals crap..

But sometimes even expensive are crap

eg the "pirelli" thingymebobs on the front of my car currently - cost €75 each and are dire in drizzle, meh in the wet, and uninspiring on a cool morning..

Read the reviews and tyre tests and pick what you want. Then hunt down the best value.

Blackcircles and (iirc) mytyres have decent pricing

My Audi B7 RS4 come from the factory with Pirelli PZero Rossos. In the 10 years I owned it I had Goodyear Asymmetrics, Michelin Pilot Sport 2, Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Vredestien Sessantas.

Opinions?

Zeros - cr*p, avoid like the plague.

Sessantas - cheapest, long life, but soft sidewalls mean initial turning is very soggy and unnerving.

Asymmetrics - quietest, best rim protection, a good option.

PS2s - a better option with good grip and feel.

PSS - the best option, excellent grip and feel in all conditions. But now being replaced by the PS4s.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just bought 4 x Vredestein 225/45 x 17 Ultrac Satin's from Camskill Tyres on the web for £57 each...ordered them at 7.00 pm on Monday evening and the courier delivered them at 9.00 am this morning :D .

Have just been and had them fitted at £10 per tyre including new valves, balancing and Nitrogen at Central Tyres in Wakefield but they felt a bit light on the way home, so I checked the pressures and the guy had inflated them to 38psi !!

I've now dropped this to 32 psi, so will see how they go, but may need to drop them a bit more ??

(if they last anywhere near the 47,000 miles that my last Bridgestone Potenza's have just lasted then I will be happy)
