2005 Fabia vrs, difficulty engaging first and reverse but only on cold mornings, any ideas?

u need to adjust your gear linkage cables. Ten minute job I think there's a video on YouTube explaining it. If u can't find it reply to this and I will write out how to do it for you

I think the video is this one, but be carefull and don't skip steps.

 

If the issue is only when the gearbox is cold I doubt it's the linkage.

me too, maybe he should try to change the oil first?

Top the gearbox oil up, failing that the clutch is dragging slightly, try bleeding the clutch slave.

When I had this problem it ended up being the old shim fix thing
