I've used Osram Nightbreakers in the past to upgrade. A simple and legal option.

Pre facelift or facelift? If pre then fit HID bulbs and have them programmed to disable the cold check.

If you get a slim set you can even fit it all in the housing.

I like 5000k as it gives an ice white

I have a HID kit fitted to my pre facelift octavia,i got the 4300k set from the seller londoncolour on ebay, best upgrade i have done,i also upgraded my main beam bulbs to phillips nightbreakers & i also fitted led sidelights. If you do a search on here you will find lots of good posts about this with links to the correct set to buy & the coding required to fit them, the londoncolour set are easy to fit & all fit inside the headlight housing,i had to get a fellow member to do the coding as i dont have vag com/vcds. Mine has just passed its 2nd mot with these fitted so no issues there & i have never been flashed with this set fitted as its just like a oem set up.

If your octavia is a facelift model 2009 onwards i think, then the general opinion is not to fit a HID kit & to fit upgraded halogen bulbs as there has been a few cases of the control unit becoming damaged once the HID kit has been fitted, this only seems to effect the facelift octavias, some have them fitted & have been fine, some have had lots of issues.

Hi all thanks for the replys so far my Octavia has adjustable  head lights so i presume its not a face lift one  i was advised that if i fit a hid  kit i probley burn out the control box or the wiper motor as if i understand right the  hid kits fool the control box re Temp setting or some thing like that  but to be honest i not got a clue if my baby is a face lift or not lol

i hope that info helps Anthoney

What year is your car?

From reading his other posts, it's a 2006 so a pre-facelift.

You can fit a HID kit without worrying about damaging your BCM as your car doesn't have a BCM.

This is the kit you need.

H7 bulb. Choose 4300k bulbs for most light output.

Your car will need coding with VCDS to tell it that it has HID lights fitted.

Have a look at the below thread to find a member local to you who can help you out.

Mike is right, most are 4300k but Mercedes I believe use 5100k in their later cars.
