Jom coilovers

Featured Replies

Hi guys looking for some help please.

I've recently fitted jom coilovers on my Fabia.

Now there's some kind of knocking/clunking noise coming from the front/underneath of my car when I set off and break.

I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.

My mechanic has suggested that it's my lower wish bone catching the subframe.

Any help would be appreciated thanks ????????

There's the problem right there. Terrible coilovers are terrible. Try shorter drop links, do a search for Mondeo drop links on here.

Serves me right for scrimping, I've got shortened drop links already guys

Im guessing thats the best financialy you could do so Im not going to tell you you have rubbish on your car.

I'm in the same boat.  If nothing obvious in marking driveshafts subframe etc etc  It could be the actual spring moving on extension etc think its called coil slap.  You put rubber things on the springs.

Good luck

????????

I didnt have any problems with the JOMs i had on my Fabia, they where fine, they wernt as crashy as people made out either. Even got them on my golf now and there perfectly fine. Keep them clean and you shouldnt have any problems.

Mine started the clunk that youve explained so i changed the top mounts, drop links for the mondeo ones, and the wishbone bushes for the PSB bushes and the clunk stopped. Have a look at the front and rear whisbone bushes for any movement.
