CD Player Dropping out

Featured Replies

Hi,

I picked up my Superb yesterday - it's a Mar 05 1.9TDi Elegance with the satnav system. Lovely car!

I've noticed that when playing CDs, every now and then - on average once or twice per typical album track - there is a momentary drop-out of the sound of anything up to about half a second. It's the sort of thing you normally experience with car CD players when you go over a bump. However this happens when the car is sitting perfectly still.

I've tried serveral CDs in different slots of the autochanger - same result. The radio exhibits no such behaviour. The CDs are not dirty or scratched.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Rob

Sounds like a problem, I have never experienced it and i drive over some rough roads, never had a cd skip.

I have lowered my Superb 45mm at the front and 35mm at the rear and I have had not CD skipping issues.

Are your CD's burnt copies or originals?

No probs with mine either. Sounds like a unit fault. Should be exchanged on warranty though.

Thanks guys. The CDs are originals and all work fine on other players. I'll pursue it under warranty.

RDS or something along those lines for the radio interferring with the audio output?

Could be something like a weak TP signal as Andy said.
