Synthetic wash mitt / pad

Featured Replies

As per the title I'm thinking of replacing my current time sheepskin mitt with a synthetic mainly for ease of care in that I can just chuck it in the machine rather than hand wash and worry about drying it slowly.

Has anyone else made the switch and care to comment on good / bad points please

Yes - i switched from the Dooka pads to the Adam's Synthetic pads last year.

Great product - available from about £11 plus P&P i think.

I wash them in the washing machine too - no regrets on the change so far.

Certainly with washing machine treatment - they benefit from a little brush or comb now and again.

Same as Ste, I don't regret the switch. Had mine for a couple of years now. After a good combing with a pet brush it comes up as good as new!

Been using a incredipad for a while now and I love it and will probably get another when the time comes.

Works very well and just so easy to clean.

Thanks, I was looking for something to replace my one Dooka pad that's now getting  a bit bald (my fault not the pad as I didn't dry it properly after each use last winter) so have ordered 1 off amazon from Motorgeek which was cheaper than going direct via their website!

Yep - Motorgeek is where i purchased as well

Well, mine arrived yesterday so I tried it out today.

Initial impressions compared with the Dooka wash pad are that it's bigger and holds more water. The pile is also deeper and the fibres seem finer. The Adams is also a creamy white colour so shows up any dirt that's transferred to it allowing you to make sure you rinse that out before washing the next panel which should help reduce the chances of damage.

All in all at this stage I'd say it's a better product and far cheaper too

Nice one - thanks for posting up your honest first impressions.

Some good points mentioned in your review.

As i said above..... brushing it out after every other wash seems to keep it in good condition, or so i find.

Cheers,

Ste.

The Adams wash pad is fantastic. It's half the price of the Dooka too which in reality is great.. you can change it after 12 months and you've had 2 pads for the price of the Dooka.

The Dooka is fantastic don't get me wrong but the price point is a little steep.

A nice honest review there Ade!

Maybe it's not quite that cheap though Karl.....

As you need to budget for a bigger wash bucket in some cases!! :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

The Adam's pad does drink and hold a huge amount of water!!!

Haha that is a very valid point! I have the 10L buckets from CYC & my wash bucket is virtually empty after washing the vRS!

A very good pad though. Mines been through the washer God knows how many times & is still performing like brand new!

Sounds like a daft q but do you use anything special to brush it out?

I also have a new Dooka pad plus a Dooka wheel mit which I bought as part of the group buy last year and find the wheel mit very useful and use the pad on the tank and panels of my bike where the Adams would probably be a bit big so all in all a bit of a result. I'll see how the Adams goes but as above first impressions are very good indeed, especially given the price though that wouldn't be the deciding factor either way for me.

Oh and I have big buckets too-for anyone using a 5L one you'll be refilling it at least once!

Thanks for all the advice. Looks like I'll go for the Adams. Appreciate the tip about getting it via Amazon !

Just ordered, my Dooka is looking a little tired.

Dooka for wheels and Adams for the body :)

Cheers for the comments and thoughts.

Great choice chaps. You won't be disappointed!
