First Impressions & Centre Rear Head Rest Question

Featured Replies

Hello all,

So, this is my first post on this forum - Ever .. I've been a member for a while (whilst waiting for delivery) but wanted to wait until I took delivery of my Superb before starting to post.  That was Friday.

I've had VWs since 2008 (mainly Golfs - The wife has a Passat R-Line estate on a '14 plate as we have two large dogs) so I've always appreciated the VAG way of style, design and Fit & Function but *wow*, what a leap forward with the Suberb (Or, the most excellent as a friend of mine calls it!)

I ordered a standard SE Business model in the estate form in "Business Metallic Grey" in May and took delivery of my 2017MY on Friday16th - It's a company vehicle.

So far, I've done just over 400 miles in it and as a first impression, I cannot believe how good it is.  I have no squeaks or rattles, the finish is excellent and the ride is smooth and comfortable.  Oh, and the adaptive cruise control is awesome - A couple of traffic jams over the weekend were no worry, even if it took me a while to get used to the car braking for me!

The seats are very comfortable and supportive - Driving long distances is not a problem.  It attracts a lot of looks too.

My father is a retired body tooling expert and complimented the body work for the sharp and accurate break-lines on the styling (where you have a sharp change in direction on the panel) and the panel fit.

Overall, a brilliant first weekend with the car.

The only query I have right now is the centre rear head rest.  Whilst the two outer head rests do extend fully (About 4" / 10cm), the centre head rest only extends about 1" / 2.5cm or so .. Is everyone else's like that or is it something I need to go back to the dealer with?

Anyway, I'm off to update my profile but will come back on here later for a chat as I'm currently at work.

Many thanks to you all,

Phil.

Glad you like the car and welcome with your first post.

Rear centre head rest is how it is on account of the centre fold down arm rest and as such the sliders don't have the depth in the seat to be any longer.

Aha .. Yes, that makes sense..

Thanks Leeboy - That's great info!

I am unable to remove the middle head rest..

Could really do with been able to remove it when I rarely put 3 car seats in the rear as the top of the high back car seats has to rest on it.

Would be better to remove to ensure the car seat seats flush to the seat back rest.
