Slight judder

Featured Replies

Sorry in advance if this has already been mentioned.

Have a Octavia vRS estate and occasionally feel a slight judder/ hesitant on the throttle only for a split second then fine. Run the car between 2/2.5krpm for a while and returns to normal.

Am I right in thinking this could be the DPF starting to clog up? No light on dash just a bit unsure as first car with a DPF.

Thanks in advance

Hi y22Oda, is your a dsg? The clutches have a common problem of juddering on take off lasts a few seconds and then you won't feel it again. This sounds like what you are feeling. I recommend taking it back to the dealership.

As what you said about the dpf being clogged this does not cause any judder type feeling.

It's a 6 speed manual.

My description probably wasn't the greatest, it's more hesitation on the throttle at say around 2krpm at low speed around 30mph just for a split second or so then becomes ok once turbo spools up.

Is this a new car to you? The diesel engines do have a 'lag' or 'hesitation' when accelerating  and it is normal operation and the hesitation your feeling may be normal turbo lag.

As your taking off does the car accelerate and once it hits the 2000ish rpm mark the vehicle hesitates (almost losing power) just for a second and then it drives normally again?

I had a customer complaint very similar to yours last week, I road tested the car and found no fault, after road testing again with the customer driving I found that customer had it in to high a gear for the speed, the judder she was feeling was the engine struggling under load in a high gear.

I hope this helps
