which was a lot cheaper than using kufatec direct strangely.

That's the exact same interface that both myself (in 2 cars) and the Profesor above have used. I was lucky on the 2nd car as I found one on ebay used for £65/. Works a treat though.

Having seen a few camera installations, I'm leaning more and more to the way of always doing it by a proven route. It may not be the cheapest, but quality and reliability always come at a price - and my two setups have never once given any cause for concern.

Couldn't agree more,i bought it as I knew it would work as it was proven to work by other members including yourself.

dose anyone no the part number for radio trim for the vrs with climate control

For a Columbus and standard VRS interior (brushed aluminium look), then this is it:

http://www.skodaparts.com/product/octavia-trim-for-navigation-system-2009-2013-50216

I sent a link to that site to my local authorised service department who ordered it through the official channels, and it was £58.07inc just under a year ago. I got it the next day from them. This is for a FL.

One other thing (which I found out after swapping out mine) is if you are replacing a Bolero and require the code so that you can sell it one, I was told by these chaps that it's very easy to read the code if the Bolero is in the car. So if you are thinking along those lines, get it read BEFORE you swap it out, else you'll have to swap it back (unless there is another method not known/used be dealers).

That looks like the same trim as mine (2011 FL VRS), so the one in the link certianly looks  like what you are after. Double check the finish here: http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/navigations/oem-1z0858069dkdf1-navigation-aluminium-trim-for/#prettyPhoto

Notice that the new one for NAV has additional material around the unit hole to make it squarer. The Bolero (I assume that is still fitted in your first picture) is slightly larger and more of a rhombus shape so fills those bits itself.

When I ordered mine the parts manager had a bit of a moment and originally didn't recognise the full code with the letters at the end as listed in the link. Beware that the number is used for both pre-FL and FL setups, with the only differences being the letters that designate the finish type. Make sure you

Dose the black peace in the middle of the climate control come out as in my rubbish picture the climate control is sort of oblong,

Sorry for keep checking but I've ordered radio trims before from main dealers and Evan they have got t wrong. So annoying when you have driven the over side of a city to collect then find out it's wrong '

As rusty says just order correct trim.

When I changed from a bolero to a Columbus I simply went to the dealer and told him the trim I wanted and he ordered it.

It was cheaper than the online one and be aware it comes in different colours in my case a carbon effect.

If the dealer gets the incorrect part you requested simply don't pay until he orders the correct one.

Posting something back to Poland or wherever is a lot more complicated than a short drive I'd have thought, having used the above company I can tell you they never reply to messages and have a habit of posting incorrect parts.

That would depend on whether or not the particular unit you bought has a video in connector on the rear. Some of them do, some of them don't and the only way to tell is to look at the back end and see if it has the connection port. Part number will tell you nothing.

Edit: In fact, I think that's the part number for the RNS310/Amundsen which doesn't have the video input port fitted as far as I know.
