New Clutch at 40k! :-o

Featured Replies

Well, just got off the phone with the OH.

She dropped off her 13 plate Citigo Sport at Letchworth Skoda (she works down there, the car was purchased elsewhere), as dipping the clutch started to make a horrible noise like a train braking hard (we know about the inherent "behaviour" of the gearboxes).

Result? Fitting a new clutch.... after 40k - Madness. Luckily, its still under warranty but I've never seen a clutch last that little time.

could be a manufacturing defect, it's not unheard of! Good job you had warranty though, gives you good piece of mind that it "should" be ok for many years

Clutch life depends a lot on driving style. On the one hand I've heard of people needing new clutches after maybe 10_000 miles and on the other I've know people who were on the original clutch after 150_000.

You did well to get a clutch @40k under warranty

I've seen someone kill a clutch in less than 100 miles.

You did indeed do well to get a clutch under warranty at 40k!

Isn't the official line something like 6k ??

Did it have special examination or was it just replaced
