Considering Audi Avant TDI

Featured Replies

I have always likes the Avants, probably would get an A4.

What is the expected mpg out of one of these, is 40mpg easy?

My commute is about 70% motorway, 30% Urban, and got 28 to 32 mpg from a Jabba'd Octavia 4x4 before I sold it.

Do the different power outputs (110, 115, 130) of the 1.9 have a worthwhile effect on mpg?

Are high milers OK? ie something with 60k to 90k miles?

Cheers

If you want the best MPG go for a 110, if your happy to receive slightly lower mpg ( between 40-45mpg) then the 130 is the one to go for.

The 115 models only offer 5bhp more and make very little difference to economy.

The 130 engine can be chipped very easily by Jabba - and will see 180bhp +

I have a customer with a 130bhp A6 that's got 197bhp -- and his car has covered over 100,000 miles -- 70,000 miles chipped - with no issues.

High milers are fine as long as they have full service history - most will as they are usually fleet company cars.

Vehicles before Aug'03 require cambelt change at 60,000 miles -- after that they are 80,000 miles officially but I would still suggest every 60,000 miles to be safe.

If you find a car that you like the look of - PM me with the Reg/Chassis number and I will check the service history with Audi for you -- every service and warranty repair carried out at a main dealer is recorded by Audi on a Mainframe.

Thanks

I'm into saving some money at the moment, and a quick sum reckons I'll save 36 quid a month based on switching to a diesel giving me 42mpg.

Is doesn't seem a big saving, a week yes, but not over a month.

Anyway, I am going to start saving my receipts to see how much I actually spend on fuel a month, and compare again.

How much does a cambelt change cost for a 1.9 tdi at an Audi dealer?

Cheers
