After 140 000 miles, all but 20 000 inflicted on the car by myself, it's goodbye to my old Fabia Mark I 1.4TDI estate. It passed the last MoT with no problems, but there were two potentially very expensive problems with the car on the horizon. First, gearbox on the way out and second, steering rack leaking a bit. Not worth sinking money into a 12 year old car.

So on to a newer Skoda Roomster. £500 trade in from a Skoda dealer for the old car clinched it for me. Now getting used to all the room in the thing. Quite cavernous! First impressions are positive. It's a Roomster 1.6TDI (105BHP) SE. Very flash.
