Does this sound like DMF problem?

Recommended Posts

I have a 2.0 tfsi Octavia VRS petrol, when you start the engine it's makes a rattle noise , also when you pull away there is a judder when finding the biting point, it almost wants to stall. The car has done 105k and I believe it's the original clutch and flywheel? Any advice appreciated .

Sounds slightly similar to mine. Only rattles on start up in the morning and when I drop the clutch the noise seems to stop...

Sounds a bit like it but don't take my word for it as my DMF experience (mercifully brief - ditched for SMF conversion) has only been with diesel.

With a diesel you would also be expecting a metallic clang if you switch off engine with pedal clutch out (not something I would normally do). However because petrol engines do not stop so abruptly the DMF would probably have to be in a very bad state before this was apparent.
