Question for any 53 reg owners

Featured Replies

HI,

This is a general question for owners of a fabia with 53 reg without Aircon.

What I would like to know is, if any of you have or do suffer from condensation on the inside the car causing the windows to be misted up or even ice up on very cold mornings.

Is this a common thing? If so what have you done to fix the problem/s.

Look forward to all your comments

Cheers

Hi mate, been covered in depth quite recently on other threads, have a wee search for them, I have a 53 plate and i get it too, seems if you turn your AC off a couple of miutes prior to the end of your journey this alleviates the problem somewhat.

I thought mine was really bad recently untill i realised my back door seals were fecked and I had wet carpets in the back causing my steamy look .

What if you don't have AC fitted, as per the OP's car ;)

I have a 53 plate Comfort without Air Con. I don't have this problem at all.

I'm on '53 but do have air con... BUT... as mentioned check your rear carpets for damp its more than likely your door is leaking as it is a common fault on all fabias.

my comfort without aircon is an 04 plate (march) ive had no trouble over the winter so far (only had the cars since 5 nov)

Right, have done the carpet check and from first touch they seem to be dry. I also looked in the rear door seals as I know they can hold water.. they were dry. Even checked in the rear tyre well.... yep dry.:(

Have set the heater controls as metioned in another post to allow a max of warm air over the carpets.

Looked at the car the other day and the whole front screen was steamed up. I did note that the outside air temp was about 6C/7C, when it was steamed up.

So I told the owner of the car to call Skoda garage and book it in.

Thanks to those of you that posted a reply

Cheers

Richard
