Sticking accelerator pedal

Featured Replies

I think my accelerator pedal stuck this morning, I'm unsure if it was caught on the car mat below or what, it hasn't done it in over 4k miles since I've had it so I'll keep an eye.

If it is, what do you advise I do? Is this a common thing?

It's out of warranty now so can't use that (though it just did go out of warranty - end of Sept.)

Thanks.

The sticking accelerator is a documented glitch, though wasn't an official recall. You should be able to have it done regardless of warranty.

How long did the engine rev for ?? Turbo over run ?

It happened to me also and the dealer said they can't reproduce the issue and most likely the car mat was the cause. Since then it happened again two times but I was lucky the road was straight and nobody in front of me! Pretty freaky I would say.

All the best!

The  accelerator pedal on our previous MY14 Spaceback TSI was replaced on a recall, although I didn't detect any issue with it prior to the replacement.

However our current MY15 Toledo TDI has got a minor fault with the accelerator pedal, in that it intermittently creeks. Awaiting contact from the dealer when the ordered replacement is in stock.

Lucky for once as it started making noise while I was driving close to the dealers, so I took a slight detour so they could hear it. Had expected them to just apply some grease, however they said the accelerator pedal unit needed replacing.
