Favorit digital clock

Featured Replies

I'm wondering if you can help me. I'd like to replace the bulb which lights the digital clock in my 1992 Favorit LS, but don't know where to start... according to the user manual, bulb should be a S6 36 12v 1.2w.... never heard of those before, googled it and couldn't find anything at all...

My second problem is.. how do I take the old bulb out? Please don't laugh but as you can imagine I'm not very good/familiar with these things! Bit clumsy but still willing to try and learn :-)

Do I need to unscrew the trim? I saw one screw near the clock. Or does the clock come off without unscrewing?

Many thanks

Well, you can do the job yourself if you have basic skills of soldering with a soldering iron for electronics. The bulb is soldered on the circuit board near the LCD. Any 12V 1.2W miniature bulb will do. You can use for instance the backlight bulbs for the heater controls from Felicia.

Wow mate that's brilliant! Thank you so much, very helpful! Cheers

Before trying to replace the bulb, do a couple of simple tests.

Look for signs of corrosion on the terminal of the clock labeled with a bulb symbol. If clean, go to next step, checking the voltage on the same terminal.

Turn on the side lights and see if you get around 12 Volts between that terminal and ground terminal. Try with and without ignition key on to see if there is any difference.
