New to the forum, Ive had a mk5 gti before this and it was a nightmare. Thankfully this occy is solid mechanically.

aem intake,

forge dumpvalve (debating whether to replace with the revisioned dv)

turbo intake pipes,

catback exhaust

and a remap.

Problem areas - driver side central locking, wishbones need replacing, it has BLACK side indicators, Red paint fade, carbon roof sticker vinyl, wrapped black spoiler and extra msport black style lip glued on top  :x  :x  :x

Just took the canards off that were screwed on with 6 screws on both sides of the bumper  :x  :x  :x  :x  :x

Also want to replace the wheels, there anthracite ADVANS and i DONT LIKE THEM...

Looking at rs4 alloys but the fitment of them are 18" et35 8j 5x100 and from reading the forum Ive heard it can cause scrubbing at the back.

225/40/18 seems to be the tyre of choice for 18s but Im not sure about the whole 8j size. Car wont be lowered btw

So first call of action is too unwrap the car, get rid of the holes in the bumper and buffing with paint correction!!

Then stick on my cupra splitter.

Its going in tomorrow for that.

Was debating whether to remove the spoiler and put a msport style colour coded lip spoiler on the back.

Only concern is I red driving at speeds of 120mph the car becomes unstable.. but I also was told by a mechanic it doesnt make a difference in these level cars.

Hopefully can get some replies and help and I'll upload progress pics. Love the VRS so far

Got the idea of the lip spoiler from @TrevorB33 and his hybrid sleeper.

I think it looks class. Is that the octavia 4x4 lip spoiler??

So this is more or less how I bought the octy last week. MINUS the canards and some of the paint that I managed to peel off the trim.

I've ordered the clear indicators which are coming Monday.

The milotec boot lip, cupra splitter and the holes which where left from the damned canards, are getting fitted and repaired to the car on Saturday.

Whilst the carbon style roof vinyl is getting removed tomorrow.

Those advans are wrapped in toyo proxes. Anyone know how much they go for ballpark price?? in very good nick just minor scrapes on two of the rims

Mate I wish I had a pic of it with the canards on it.. the cars look is wrong on so many levels  :D  :D

Only 3 owners before me and the fella  I bought it off only had it a month (picked up 6 penalty points in that month)

The only logical explaination is one of the owners was a blind man/woman

Canards?

Thank god!

I was feeling pretty thick, and afraid to ask...

But a google shows litle wings on the bumpers.. given the styling doneto the rest i predict they looked nasty and homemade..

Changed the wheels, sorted the trim and fitted the clear indicators with led bulbs.

Waiting on the milotec lip spoiler from Germany and some Skoda centre caps for the alloys.

Should look decent with the bumper repair, lip spoiler fitment and a full buff.

will keep yous updated!!

Saw a hybrid k04 turbo for sale but seems to be too much hassle after looking through the forum...

Also theres some mk5 gti brake calipers for sale, would they be a upgrade on the standard vrs alloys or is it worth it?

Its a 2002.

Ill be uploading pictures later as I removed the lip that was on the black painted spoiler and also managed to remove the black paint without scratching the red paint under.

I also removed the carbon roof sticker and resealed the gap between the front windshield and roof.

In two minds now whether to put the milotec lip spoiler on as it looks good OEM with all the SHI*TE removed.
