Superb "SORTED"

Featured Replies

:) Well sorry for the delay in updateing on the superb with the broken bolt but it is now fixed and I am still chaseing Skoda UK for the repair cost

Glad you got it sorted mate, It certainly would top it off nicely if Skoda UK were to help you with the costs, and from the evidence you say you have then looks like you may well get that

Ouch, that was expensive! :( I hope that you succeed in recovering the cost of the repair in the circumstances.

I would be interested to know the basis of your case against Skoda. You have no contract with them, only with the garage that sold you the car. Is there some other non-contractual liability?

The car is within the manufacturers warranty period, the fault was found to be a manufacturing defect, the manufacturer is Skoda.

I thought RK001mobile's previous post on this subject said it was just outside of the manufacturer's warranty, which was why Skoda were refusing to pay. Hence my previous query

Perhaps RK001mobile can clear up the confusion. If it was within the original period what excuse was Skoda using for not honouring the warranty?

Only info I can find is that it's an 03 which would almost certainly be within the warranty period.

If you look at this thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/ask-tech/41836-help-problems-superb-1-9tdi-engine.html you will see that RK001mobile said that the warranty had already run out before the problem occurred.

So as I siad before I will be interested to know the solicitor's advice as to how Skoda can be held liable (as opposed to the garage that sold it to RK001mobile). That info may help us all in the future.

Depends on mileage. 3rd year is capped to 60k.

That was my understanding too.

If its not under warranty - surely Skoda would only refund the cost as a good will gesture?

I know it sucks, but thats the way I've interpreted it.

Sorry, missed that post.

Anyway hope he gets the outcome he's looking for and let's us know how he gets on.
