Skoda armrest tablet holder and 2 children

Featured Replies

Hi

I recently ordered a Skoda Superb and are considering buying a tablet holder. I have two children, 3 and 5 years who ride in car seats and I would like to give them watch a cartoons during a trip.

If I mount the tablet in the armrest using Skoda holder, will two children be able to watch a movie on  one tablet?

If not what is the best solution so that two children could watch the same movie while driving?

no, only one child can watch at a time due to the angle, plus they have to look down from their car seats... so not an ideal position.

In my prevoius car i had built in 9 inch screens in the head rests, however i decided to go for these..

They have proper brackets to attach, 3 hour battery life, dual charger which goes into the rear 12v socket, can be used away from the car on trips.

Used them for our road trip to Holland and Germany and where perfect for the task in hand,

its a bit of hassle removing and setting them up, but we only use them on long trips.

Is any way to get the same movie with the same sound in 2 head rests players? I mean synchronize it ? Or syncronize 2 tablets to play the same movie?

I'm afraid that I cannot manage driving, listen sounds  from 2 different movies and listen my wife in the same time :)

I had virtually the same system as RickTT but the ones I had had the ability to play the same movie through one unit. Basically each unit could play a different movie, or both play the same.

I think i may still have them at home, but kids don't use them anymore as they have their own tablets.

Yes.. they came with a link cable which replicated the same movie onto both screens as well.  - it is another cable to make it look messy though.. but once you get all the cables zip tied up its ok.

Also.. then buy the kids headphones and an extension lead

I've only got one child usually in the car and have the official holder and headrest mount so it can be viewed from either the headrest or armrest.

My son tried it out for the first time yesterday with one of his friends in the back as well and I can confirm it's really only suitable for one child to watch at a time. They can peer over if it's on the arm rest but not good for smaller children if they're strapped into a seat (my son is 7 so it's okay).

A solution like RickTT is suggesting would be needed really.

Or.. go for some Xtrons which i had in my BMW.

They are really good vaule for money.

With these though you remove the exisiting headrest and replace with these, connect to a switched 12v, route cabling into the seat and out under it.
