Hi all,

 

New member here I'm a long time VAG enthusiast but as of yet not a Skoda owner, I'm looking to potentially pick up a Fabia (Namely the diesel estate variants) and my quest for advice has landed me here!

 

My cars at the moment include a 2001 Lupo SDI for the weekly slog and a 1989 Mazda Eunos Roadster for weekends.

Thanks Gaz, and yes, the SDI variants offer great economy! The Lupo SDI is no different, in effect it's a 1.7 'short stroke' version of the popular 1.9 SDI lump found in other VAG cars, completely bulletproof and in a reduced capacity/small car format capable of 70MPG+ without much effort.

 

FWIW I actually joined the site in search of info RE SDI variants of the Fabia but it seems as though they're plagued with gearbox niggles and such my search may well turn to the later 1.4 TDI models, although that being said I don't much fancy the prospect of potentially having to replace turbo's etc... I'm waffling, that's a topic for another thread
