The 'normal' aerial base is notorious for needing replacing but I've not found any DAB problems in the Worksop area.

What head unit do you have?

I have an aftermarket pioneer stereo about 2 years old

Buy a genuine vag one .

I fitted it when I bought a dab unit.

Contact rustynuts on here he sells the dab units and aerials and supplied mine.

It's worked faultlessly

Which windscreen aerial you using?

I have a pioneer AVIC F77-DAB stereo with a windscreen mounted aerial and reception is pretty good.

I would prefer to not have the aerial on the screen so been thinking of changing the shark fin aerial for one with DAB. This is all on the Saab by the way but the aerials look the same as VAG to be honest.

It's on I got supplied with the stereo when I got it. Normal radio is shocking too so think I need to change my external on so was thinking of getting a dab one too

Try dab on wheels website, there are lots of choice on there. I've got dab/fm kinetic bee sting type roof aerial and the dab reception is superb.
