Need help asap as it's my only car

No you can buy them seperately from the rack itself, check www.carparts4less.co.uk and punch in your reg, youll see whats available under steering.

No but after doing the outer cv joint we could of poped the inner to driveshaft only thing I can think off well phone some garage's today pay a fortune to fix now uccchhhh

iv just had an inner CV issue on mine.

If your garage is just replacing the joint/boot then kick them in the boot.

for Cost you might as well just replace the whole shaft, we looked at my inner boot issue and the job would go.

Remove shaft - remove boot - inspect joint - replace boot and joint - refill with grease - replace shaft to car.

What we did:

Remove shaft - Throw in bin - Fit new shaft - Enjoy car.

Yes parts costs will be a little higher but labor cost will be A LOT lower.

Is it not just a tripod with bearings on each "leg" on the inner side of these cars? On other VWs you just slacken the centre hub nut, take the inner cv boot off, put some grease on it then just force it back into its position, refit the boot and tighten your hub nut again. Takes about five minutes on that design.

With GSF doing their weekend 45% discount I bought the complete shaft with both CV's for £45 ish

No they not just doing the inner you can't do that I'm just getting new shaft in instead of research greasing and putting back in I drove it to pick my son up from his mums brought him and drove it to the garage for them to input it and back home so I most dobe damage to the shaft just to try put it back in not an expensive job as the garage owner is good man so wI'll going there from now on
