You won't be disappointed, as it's a seriously nice machine.

We've just taken delivery of 3 machines, as we are going to try and get Solaris x86 to dual boot alongside Tiger. If we can get it to work, then they will probably be the machine of choice for our home workers.

Initial impressions of the machine are very good, but it's not performing anywhere near as well as it could, thanks to the lack of universal binary versions of most applications. iLife and iWork 06 are pretty sweet, though, as they do run natively.

I think I'm going to wait for a nice dual processor duo machine, before I make the change from my G5.

Check out the "folding forum" on the main page, down the bottom. All the info about what it is, and how you do it.

Make sure it all works ok, first generation Mac hardware is often quite tempremental while they get things right.

It is however a sweet piece of kit

As another iMac user (a 1.8 G5 17" bought towards the end of last year), welcome and congratualations. I'm really happy with mine, though I've given up on the wireless keyboard and mouse. The keyboard was simply because my wife needed one with cyrillic characters (she's Russian) and this wasn't one of the options available when I bought the computer (and we had the USB one anyway); the mouse was because I bought the Mighty Mouse two button with scroll wheel, which is USB only at the moment.

Must admit, it ticked me off a bit when they brought out the Intel versions -- jealousy more than anything since the one I have does everything I want it to do just fine.
