newbie looking to buy fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Hello,

My first post here. I'm looking to buy a new fabia vrs very soon. My local dealers are garland skoda in aldershot or jacksons in basingstoke. Has anyone here used either of them and how did you find there service?

I've been looking at prices from online brokers such as drivethedeal.com and broadspeed, is a dealer likely to match these prices for a cash buyer?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Hi Steve,

Welcome to Briskoda :wavey:

You'll find a wealth of information on here about delaers and members experiences Try a Search

As for pricing it is worth shopping around for the best deal. By all means take a copy of the prices from Drive the Deal to your local delaer and see how you get on. Also worth trying farther afield than you local chap.

Any thoughts on colour???

Hi Jonny5ive

Thanks for the info!

Hehehe! Gonna be Black magic in colour i'm afraid! :) I've seen people mention on here about lifeshine, Is this a paint protectant type thing? worth doing?

Cheers

Steve

steve,

Firstly welcome to briskoda!

I've never heard of that but I assume that it's like diamond brite or alike. I'm sure a good wax applied regular would be just as good.

As for the dealers check out the review section for owners reports, it's will worth trying the dealer to beat/match the online deal in some cases they will.

Black is a great colour but it will scratch and get dirty easy.

Damn another Black Magic Sheep :D :D :D

I've not heard of life shine myself. I'm sure someone will be along before too long to fill you in (so to speak). I would assume it to be a paint guard type thingy but not sure.

Anyway, I can safely say you'll love the car and be prepared that as long as you remain a member on here you'll be spending money on modifications. :D regardless of how many times you've said to yourself "I'll keep mine standard".

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE :D :D

BTW - it appears the vRS is now available in blue and green... might be worth going for one of them?

Cheers folks!

Been made to feel very welcome already! :)

Doesnt seem to be any customer reviews for garland motors so i'll see how i get on and give them a review, i believe they are merged with winchester motor company who seem to get very good praise! Hopefully gonna take one for a spin (not literally i hope) tomorrow if i can!

Looking forward to becoming a skoda owner, drove my dads octavia tdi to scotland and back at christmas, 800 mile round trip and it was an absolute pleasure to drive! Owned a pug 306 XSi 16v for the last 6 years, fantastic car to drive but its getting on a bit now and i fancy something new! Plus pugs arent the most reliable things known to man!;)

Thanks again guys!

Steve.

Welcome to Briskoda Steve:)

We purchased a Fab VRS (used 53 plate) for my soon to be father in law @ Garlands......we were looked after well....as you've probably seen its only a small site but they seemed to know what they were talking about & were happy to do a deal. Because we are in Swindon they were happy to agree a deal over the phone subject to us being happy with the car in the metal...Having worked in a dealership before the only negative I would say is they didnt re-valet the car prior to us collecting it but maybe thats just me being finnicky!..& also they parked the car up against the back wall with the rear end amongst the undergrowth which meant i had to polish the scratches out when we got home:(
