electronic service data via myskoda app

Featured Replies

Admin,

Can't find any reference to the myskoda app in the forum so hope its ok to post here.

Up until today I could see my service data and I had the manual for the car, all on little phone (apple)

the previous app  was v 4.0 now its updated to v 5.0 and I have nothing.

That "Paul" is getting in the way as he is only 30% through setting up, clearly they have changed lots of things, including how we logon.  Previously I just needed VIN now it full blown email and min 7 digit password with capital, numeric and a special character.  Damn nuisance.  No real need for that level is it.

Am I missing a brain cell as it now appears to want to connect via smartgate but that was not required before.

All I really want is my service data and manual.  Any suggestions ?

The motor industry has finally begun reacting to the fact that 'connected' cars have until very recently had poor security. It may be that VAG has put two factor authentication into play - and quite rightly - to protect against thieves trying to get into the systems. When you see just how poorly some of these systems have been designed and how easy it is for miscreants to get into the onboard electronics and do damage, you will be glad they are finally awake and sorting it.

It might not be the answer you wanted, but going forward it could be the reason it has got complicated after this update.

Felis,

I agree, but and it is a big but, having re registered why is it I cannot have that which I had already had.  (My own data and a manual.) The rest is of no use to me.

My guess is that someone has messed up the log on and demands the smartgate hardware to be fitted.  OK I can accept, that but Skoda have gone all digital on the service data so how does one access it for your vehicle if not by an app.

Guess we will have to wait and see what happens

Just purchased a Superb 3 SE MY2017 and it won't connect to the Skoda OneApp in car via USB and the MySkoda App won't recognise my VIN - I enter it and it just displays the spinning "I am processing something" wheel and then does nothing. Anyone got any tips on how to make them work? I've contacted Skoda UK on FB to see if they can offer any advice.

Thanks
