I depends on what you want to do with it.  I have found Carista does everything I need at the moment.

I got Carista for a one off payment of £14.99.  I understand it's very limited which is why I put the caveat in that it depends what they require it to do.  I am thinking of going down the VCDS route myself but at the moment, Carista fulfils my needs. I think the purchase of VCDS will happen when I get around to changing my Stream for a Bolero or Columbus as that will be the start of mods that need the extra functionality.

Stream for a Bolero or Columbus ??? what the **** does that mean, could be fly rods for all I know

I'm not sophisticated enough to have a Stream MP3, just a bog standard Stream.
