Recently I decided to get a phone + BB. One question I asked BT,after seeing the discounts on BT Store was there any BT pensioner discounts for service. Nil/nilch/nada was the answer- BT sales had no answer, yet ON bt Store site, I found BT BASIC, which perhaps BT are tryinhg to hide.

I'D ASK WHY /

A pensioner does not qualify looking at the requirements.

You can usually get BT Basic if you are claiming one of these benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Pensions Credit (Guaranteed Credit)
  • Employment and Support Allowance (Income related)
  • Universal Credit (and are on zero earnings).

You must be the named account holder to apply.

Great, manno- EXCEPT that as a pensioner , I asked what special discounts were available, I wasn't asked about my circumstances, or if I fell into the categories. I might have done. but ,then there's no bonuses in that.
