will a bnv engine still work in a fabia which has an engine code of bms

Featured Replies

i have a 2009 skoda fabia which is a 3 cylinder 1.4 tdi ,,,  it is making a really loud noise when accelerating timing belt has been change as for the clutch and the flywheel. I've been told it is a crank related issue. i have decided to just get another engine my engine code is bms but i cant find a decent priced one however the engine code which is bnv is a lot cheaper and it is pretty much the same engine from what i can see. same 1.4 3 cylinder  80hp engine. does anyone know if this engine will work fine in mine or is there a difference between the 2. please help

Welcome to the forum.

Of the engines you are finding that are better priced are these in running / driving cars that you can drive to actually see if they are any better than what you have now?

If not then you are just taking a gamble.
