Windows dont work after new dashboard - weird! Re-coding dashboard

Featured Replies

Well - where to start?

Skoda Octavia 1.9tdi estate 09 reg

Just had to have a new dashboard installed.

Car now running OK but with the immobiliser killed off.

The old dashboard was completely dead - so not been able to establish any communication with this.

The electric front windows don't work!  - by overriding on an output test the motor works, the switch works.# but not detecting any faults on computer (VCDS? VAG?)

Can "see" switches in measuring blocks (? not sure what this means!)

Dont think we have lost a fuse since there are no "open" circuits" / no short circuit.........in fact cant be since we can override!

As said before - currently no fault on VCDS

ALSO - radio code missing - but I think I can ask a lad I know at Skoda (he did it last time)

ALSO - any advice on re-coding the dashboard clocks? getting mileage correct? Ive been given a chaps name in Rotherham & he says he "can sort it for £60 on Thursday - takes an hour or two online " - is this about right!!!

Any thoughts / help / advice are most appreciated!

Radio code has something to do with them being stored in the clocks. My car had a clock change and I've had to buy a code for mine on eBay since it happened, as I got the code screen one day!

It only cost about 6 quid if I remember correctly.

Not an issue I've come across, I don't think there is anything obvious I can think of in a cluster lcode or adaptions that would prevent the windows from working.

Radio code is expected as the headunit is paired to the old cluster. Should be trivial to get a new code from either eBay or Skoda.

Sorting the odometer and sorting the immobiliser take specialist tools and £60 sounds pretty reasonable if they are able to complete the job :)

A full VCDS autoscan is always useful if you have one.
