So, for the first time in my life, I have placed an order for a new car.

The details are:

Race blue 220bhp VRS estate

DSG

Canton sound system

Black pack

Folding mirrors

Spare wheel

Am looking forward to the day it arrives. Have been told that they will try and get it to me before xmas but I am expecting arrival in the new year.

Can wait. It'll be nice to be back in the Skoda fold.

You beat me to your first new; took me nearly fifty years, in part because I hated paying purchase tax/VAT which just compounded the first years depreciation in value. I understand 'can't wait' and then three years without having an MOT. Having had an Octi previously I did my specifying and initial pricing/negotiation over the internet using Skodastore.com (then checked against others) and quite enjoyed putting the spec together and then seeing what best prices were offered. Will be a nice Christmas or New Year presi for you.

Congrats! Great to be able to spec up a car to what I want (within budget) rather than having to make do second hand.

It's going to be something of a fortieth birthday present to myself! That and Christmas.

nothing better than buying a brand new car with all the extras you want in it. it is like waiting on the first born child... almost.

It's starting to really kick in for me now.  

Car was built last week and last update from the dealer was that it was waiting on a train (image of it sitting on a platform with it's Bradshaw's guide under one door mirror).

Already looked at what ships are due into Tyne in the next week.

It's got 2 weeks on Tuesday to make my birthday!

Good luck! The wait will be worth it.

Nice! I would have rather liked Race Blue on ours, but sadly I was overruled by SHMBO. *sulks*
