oil sensor

Featured Replies

Hi, has anybody had any issues with the oil sensor.

it would appear to be a connection issue, and water is getting into the connector.

the sensor alarm appears to flash up randomly.

it is not an oil level issue.

it is a 1.2 tsi sel dsg.

i have been told not a one off issue

So this is the sensor that tells you that you could be short of oil? Not the oil pressure sensor? My Fabia doesn't/hasn't had that issue. Don't personally know anyone with our particular model that has that problem.

it would appear to be a connection issue on the sensor.

my car going for investigation this week.

water? getting into the connector causing oil sensor light to flash.

garage say it is being asked by skoda to look at the issue, as ther appears to be a few cars affected.

What is it flashing?

Is it Yellow or Red or what do you mean, and when does it flash, all the time, on start up then keeps going or something else?

EDIT.

Sorry i see you say it flashes up randomly.

?

So what is flashing, yellow or red.

Is your car set for Fixed or Variable/Flexible servicing.   How many miles has the car done?

hi,

it was flashing yellow, dealer said possible corrosion in connection.

dont know if fixed or variable service.

car has done about 100 miles.OTR 28/10/16

Not good.

I hope you are leaving car with them until the fault is properly corrected, and if there is a 'corrosion issue' as they suggest they explain that properly,

when your car was built, stored etc.

A nice Demonstrator to drive until a Diagnosis and written report is done, and any parts replaced or even the car if there are Corrosion / Electric Connection issues.

will keep you posted

hi,

car back from dealer. part of the wiring loom to the oil sensor was replaced, along with the sensor itself.it would appear not to be an isolated incident.so if anyone gets the oil sensor flashing , check the connector first, then go to the dealer
