Loud whine noise poss turbo and front windows not working?

Featured Replies

Hello,

i bought a 2005 fabia vrs a few months ago, it has a loud whine noise when i accelerate probably between 2.5k and 3k it had a hybrid turbo fitted just last year, got told it was the egr gasket so i got the egr delete...still makes the noise, there are rare occasions where it doesnt happen for a few minutes but then happens again, i thought it could be the turbo but its lost no power at all!

any suggestions?

Also the front electric windows don't work iv changed fuses and checked wiring, the windows did go down if i put the  key in the door but that stopped work, i know its a common fault so maybe someone knows how to resolve it lol

cheers!

Do you see smoke black smoke from the exhaust at the same time as the noise? if so might be boost leak.... It could be all sorts without hearing it, wheel rubbing, wheel bearing etc etc

it doesn't smoke excessively just the usual really, it does it if i rev it on idle that's why i thought it was turbo or boost pipe? as far as i'm aware it hasn't caused any damage...so far, its just annoying my car screaming at me lol

can you get someone to rev and you watch the exhaust? maybe record the noise and post. But if your doing it stationary and its making noise my guess is boost pipe/ turbo. Get your tools out i reckon and get inspecting all boost pipes first. Does it have standard setup, side mount/ pipes?
