Approved Wheel Sizes-where to find them?

Featured Replies

hello everyone,

I am happy "newish" owner of Superb Bussines reg 15, with 17 inch wheel.

Please, could anybody point me, in the right direction, where in the paperwork, I can find "manufacture approved" size/sizes of wheels and tires for my car.???

Reason why I am asking for them is, I am going to put winter tires , and would prefer to have them on 16 inch steel rims.

I know similar topics (size matter.. :notme: ) have been discused already, but I am just getting confused and would like to avoid any possible problems with insurance policy etc....

Sorry for my English and thanks a lot for any help

P.S. before Superb we had Hyundai i40...and after 3 months and 5000miles, we are still sooooo happy we change it

There's extensive coverage in the pinned thread winter wheel / brake sizes.

I've yet to see any english documentation listing manufacture approved wheel sizes, but if it helps theres a German TüV document used for testing and enforcement in Germany that lists the approved wheel sizes.

The link to the PDF document is here but it does change each time there is an update. You will want to scroll down to page 265.

The sizes shown in the pinned thread are correct. At least they match the certificate of conformity notes for my S3.

However, if you want to have documented evidence then you can get a copy of the COC for your vehicle by mailing here. [email protected]

Make sure you give them the VIN and registration along with your home address and they will post one out to you. I dont think there is a charge for this; at least there there wasn't when I got mine about 6 months ago.
