Lambda / Oxygen Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Looking to replace the aforementioned sensor on the 1.4 16v engine. Before I begin where is it on this engine and are there any rules to note about the replacement on this particular engine please?

Apparently this is a known area of falure? (IS this the case?) The EML is showing this as being faulty,

Many thanks

John

There are two sensors, one on the manifold and one under the car, which one is faulty?

Not sure,

it says something like

sensor1 bank 1

So, I can only assume its the manifold one. (Which is what i think I've bought)

Also, what are the symptoms of a failing / failed sensor ?

Sensor 1 is indeed the manifold one.

What part number have you bought?

Part number I got was 150072 and  pa66 and 8718475869733

eBay item number was 371254953924

AFAIK that's the wrong number of wires/pins for the pre-cat sensor (bank 1 sensor1) I'm afraid.  Busy right now, but will look up the VAG part number of what you need later.

Just an update...

got a 'cheap' £60 sensor and wished I had not.... Still no change. Had to bit bullet and get an original one and YAY problem fixed....That was £220 incl vat!
