Anyone in Hertfordshire who can code out LED bulb errors?

Featured Replies

As per the title, looking to fit LED number plate bulbs but keep getting errors, anyone with VCDS who can code the error out for me on a 62 plate VRS Octavia?

I'm in Hertfordshire, I can travel within reason.

Cheers

I work over in Cambridge if it's any good to you :)

62 plate will be an Octavia II?

AFAIK the BCM with the ability to code out LED errors was introduced about that time (11 plates don't have it and not all 12/62 plates have it), so worth checking that you have the correct BCM - as if you don't then it will be a resistor job instead.

I think any MY12 or newer vehicle should be fine, my '61 plate certainly is.

The only way to find out is to get it scanned and see what happens :)

It depends on the actual build date of the car, which can be anything from a few weeks before it was registered to several months if it was held in a dealer stock.

Ok, assume know nothing, which is true, is there any way for me to tell without hooking it up first?

If I go the resistor route (I've seen so e leads on eBay) will they work either way?

I have Carista so I can run an ecu diagnostic, get part numbers etc.

Under central electronics it says BCM PQ35 H. The part is 1K0937087AD. There's a very long coding number too. Can you tell from that if it's possible or does it need to just be tried out on VCDS.

I live in Hemel Hempstead and have genuine VCDS with the latest software. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Yup, I would expect an AD rev to be new enough :)

You can probably code it yourself using carista but I've never used it.

No it doesn't do coding, just unlock a few bits and reset faults etc

Thanks to langers2k for sorting this out for me, quick adjustment on VCDS and the number plate lights are all good. Thanks to cladiu2s for the offer of help too.
