Wondering

Featured Replies

Hello guy's, can anyone solve this please? I have had the tracking done twice at different garages but it still pulling over to the left? I rotated the wheels, also have new tyres, but its still slightly pulling over on the nearside. Any ideas please?

You'll find a number of threads relating to the "pull to the left" subject so have a search.

When you say the tracking was done, was it just tracking or a full alignment? If the former then it might be worth searching out a nearby outfit with a Hunter rig as this is far more comprehensive and can reveal any issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGTHN3G_DR8

Thank you.

I had the issue with mine the only way I rectified the issue was to replace the directional tyres with asymmetric tyres IE Uniroyal Rainsports 3

Sounds daft but it cured the problem after having the wheel alignment done a 2 reputable garages who claimed it was spot on.

I think the problem with directional tyres is they are based on V tread pattern. I.e. One half has a pattern that pulls to the left and the other half pulls to the right. Unless the camber is spot on zero there will be bias to wander in one direction.

The fabia rear suspension is basic and non adjustable and the rear camber varies with how laden the rear is. You may have different camber left/right plus the toe in of the rear and thrust angle are rarely zero. This means the car will crab trying to turn the vehicle.

Switching to non directional tyres, effectively eliminates the camber problem and therfore should reduce the wander.

How exactly does this "wandering to the left" manifest itself?

Do you have your hands off the wheel?

Is it all down to the camber in the road?

Would the car "wander to the right" on the continent?

Its not a severe pull, but I have checked it on a car park and it still pulls to the left when you let go of the wheel.

As I said mine done this with no extra wear to the tyres but it drove me mental when you let go off the steering wheel it would constantly drift left

So daft question, did you have to replace all 4 tyres or just the front 2?

I replaced all four lad prefer same tyre all round

Using a mobile 'phone while driving is so much easier if you take your hands off the wheel. It is so inconvenient f the car chooses to go for a wander whilst you are busy texting your neighbour to say that you will be home soon to walk the dog.

Allegedly the Police are planning to clamp down on people taking their hands off the wheel while driving ;)
