Has anyone else heard of a Skoda Laura???

Featured Replies

OK folks, that gives us some extra letters in the Skoda font to play with.

How many words can we make from the letters a,b,c,e,f,i,l,o,p,r,s,t,u & v? (felicia, fabia, octavia, supurb & laura)

Erm. Actually no it doesn't give us any extra letters. Maybe that's why they chose the name.

The "L&K" octavia is named after Lauren & Klement (sp?) Lauren is about as close as you'll come to the real thing I believe. :P

I believe it is the name the factory in India has given the MK2 Octavia for the Indian Market. Read it a few days ago.

Mil is correct it's what the Octavia is called in India.....not sure why though

Maybe the word 'Octavia' is offensive in India

Different names for different markets. Kinda like how you have the Shogun in the States and the Pajero here. Guess they thought it would be better to name the new Octi the Laura and keep the Octavia known as the older model.

Thats because Pajero means w**ker in Spanish ... which obviously isn't a great selling point in Spanish speaking markets :D

It's because The Mk1 Octavia will still be made for a while yet and is not a run out overlap with the Laura. So it makes sense to distinguish the 2 with different names.
