They state Max Power outputs at the minimum they might be allowing for height above sea level and temperature variations and lowest fuels used.

So 95 ron for EU testing, but the vehicles may not be only sold in Europe obviously.

In the UK you will not be driving above 3,500 feet above sea level or at ambient temperatures greater than 40*oC,

and you will not use lower than 95 Octane but might be running with 97 or 99 ron (minimum)

I have to disagree as NA engines are much more affected by altitude than a turbo and they are rarely over spec in any independent test.

Quite a few of the higher output VW models also have lower published outputs in Australia than in Europe or just not released here because of our warmer climate

Happy for you to disagree.

Do you dyno many Petrol engine cars before and after Dyno's when remapping, particularly TSI engines, Turbo or Twinchargers.?

If you do then you must know how they compare to the published figures.

VW have different figures for VW Golf R in North America due to Fuels, & different for cars with Overboost because they do not include the higher figure.

As do Ford with the Focus RS / ST's.  USA different from the European Outputs.

eg

Ford Fiesta ST200 (200ps) is given figures including the Overboost extra 20hp for some World Regions and without in others.

179/182 hp or 197 hp depends where you read it, which journalist gets the figures right..

Then the VW Golf GTI Clubsport without overboost is 265ps and that is the figure that has to be used in some World Regions,

not the output available for an extra 20 seconds.

Sometime compare VW, Audi, Seat & Skoda performance figures for vehicles with the same engines, drive trains and BHP.

Some how the VW Group manages to have the heavier but also more expensive models from VW or Audi with a lower VED class because of lower Co2 Figures,

yet better MPG figures and quicker 0-100km & a higher top speed than a both lighter in weight and less expensive new Skoda or SEAT.

You never want customers to think they are better off buying a cheaper car even though it is not so Premium. (or just more expensive.)

*But then VW & Audi were found out on Co2 g/km Irregularities which they then called Implausible Co2 results,

and the Official figures have been altered.   VW Group / Audi & some SEAT testing was 'faulty',  just an error, like the scales they use.*

Some VW Group brochures need filed under 'Fiction'.
