Steering Wheel Weight

Featured Replies

I dont drive our MY16 SE Sport SB often, but this evening noticed that the steering wheel weight is very similar to my MY16 Superb when in sport mode.

Its a shame they didnt provide the driver profile settings of ECO, Normal and Sport on the My16 cars..  Sometimes its good to just have the lightest steering wheel when pottering around town..

IIRC correctly, power steering weight is something that can be set in the ECU. I'm guessing it's not one of the things that a user can fiddle with via the infotainment unit on the MY16 cars?

No, there's no button or anyway in the imfotaintment to change it..

Wonder if the we sport is same as say a s model

VCDS / VAGCOM required then.  @igor67 will probably be along later to tell us the exact setting you need to change.

Having had the FIAT version of switchable PAS, I can tell you the MPG reduction isn't worth the finger light steering.

Power steering module - > adaptation

;)

Had the switchable mode thing with the Octy III but rarely used it past the first weeks 'novelty factor', so I couldn't really compare the adaptive system to the Rapid. However I'm very happy with the set-up on the later cars fitted with the electric power steering, even on the 17" rims; early production notchbacks had the rubbery electro/hydraulic system from the Fabia I & II.
