As the title. Did the manufacturer ever sort the problem at source or do even the latest engines have the potential for failure?

Anybody know the answer to this??

Was there a year eg. 2012 when the engines produced had the problems sorted?

The later engines have optimised parts to prevent the issue

I would say around the beginning of 2012.

I've replaced 4 1.8 TSI engines and they've all been on 2011 cars.
