Interior drivers door handle playing up.

Featured Replies

Hi all. I've recently fit a new window regulator to my daughters fabia sport and the cable that fits into the back of the lever has popped off twice now. On closer inspection I am wondering whether a small piece of metal has snapped off where the cable is held in place. Anyone had similar trouble before I try and order a new handle from TPS.post-122362-0-96448100-1480347345_thumb.jpgpost-122362-0-17438000-1480347361_thumb.jpgpost-122362-0-35242100-1480347375_thumb.jpg

Also, is it unusual for the new regulator to be slower than the others. Do I need to make any adjustments anywhere? Thanks in advance.

Nothing has snapped off. That's how they are.

Wow TMB, I'm amazed. That is an  absolutely appalling design then. I've tried allsorts to try and keep it in place but because of the shape of it its difficult. Unsure as to what to do next. Getting sick of removing the doorcard every weekend. I must be keeping someone in a job tho' making those little green clip things that hold the door card on :D

I originally thought mine were broken too. It does seem an odd design but I have to say that I have never had the cable pop off. I wonder if there's too much slack in your cable for some reason?

Hey TMB, I've been studying the pics you posted for me and after a closer look at the latch ( with a precision eye loupe ) I reckon there could be a very small piece of metal missing. The "thin claw " part if you like. Ill give TPS a bell for a price and a shifty/comparison . I'll keep you posted.

Yes I now see what you mean! Could be a very tiny bit!

Just a quick update as promised. I've bought the new part (£13 ish) from TPS. And yes there was a small piece of clasp missing. Just needed to swap the trim over and then fit tomorrow. Then the young 'un will have the luxury of a brand new shiny handle instead of using the cable to get out of the car lol. Pics attached of new and old for comparison.
