MkIII 1.8 throttle problem and Sound problem

Featured Replies

Hey,

Received my Superb MkIII 1.8 TSI Style 2.5 months ago and up to friday been happy with it. However on Thursday we took a boat from Helsinki to Travemunde. When i drove on the boat the EPC light came on and the engine stuttered. Was able to get it parked and left it there. When we arrived on Friday in Travemunde at 2200 i tested it and was still the same. Rolled off the boat and got towed to a local Skoda dealer.  Skoda service was good and will cover the rental and the hotel room for friday night.

Today they diagnosed it as the butterfly valve needing the be replace. It was ordered today and should be ready tomorrow. A bit suprised that 2.5 month old car with 1780 KM driven gets this problem. Anyone else experience problems with the valve or the throttlebody?

Second issue i have is mainly an annoyance and wondering if anyone has seen the same. if the car hasnt been used for a few hours and i start it there is no sound available for anything and i get the below message when going to the sound settings

Sound

this could have to do with my bluetooth connection to my windows phone but havent found a specific solution yet. Sometimes the sound starts working again in a minute or so but longest has been 20 minutes. Turning of the phone blue tooth doesnt seem to change much. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Update since it has been a while: The throttlebody fix was done and no issues there anymore.

This week Skoda thinks they finally figured out the issue with the sound. It seems that in the wiring harness the optical cable has a break in it which causes the issues. The wire harness is being replaced today so lets see what happens.

Last but no least also had a problem with the webasto heater but it turned out the remote was broken so this was also replaced

Reading the error message about sound..

I dont have any issues with sound......  but I have been able to replicate the error message.

The error message will occur if you go into the sound menu / settings and leave that screen loaded,  then request the sat nav to Read out-loud the Next direction.   (The pop up message will then appear.)
