Boot opening plunger mech

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My mate's fabia boot won't open, apart from by the emergency lever inside. The exterior button clicks when you press it, but nothing happens on the mechanism which connects the boot to the frame.

We're pretty sure the white plastic part with an electrical connection going into into it is at fault but can't find it anywhere online, does anyone know what it's called or its number? It has a horizontal plunger which actuates and opens the catch but currently that is disconnected as the boot won't close with it connected.

Any help much appreciated!

I had the same problem on my Fabia.

I took the actuator apart, cleaned it up, wound the spring back up and it was all good again.

If yours is totally dead, you can't buy just the actuator from Skoda as it comes complete with the rest of the mechanism, but you can get them on eBay.
