Adaptations applied but not effective?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Received my OBDEleven this morning and had a quick look at a few of the adaptations and noticed some aren't working despite saying they are set.

  • Refuel quantity

Says was already active however when scrolling through, I only see range etc. Even Oil Temp was already activated.

  • Acoustic confirmation

I tried both via the App route and the manual route. Setting it to active works, but upon going back in, it is inactive again.

Still trying to work out what I can do on my SE Sport, but thought these two wouldn't be a problem?

Any suggestions?

Depends what model car you have - I've noticed that some adaptations (when using the one-click apps that use credits) have a warning at the bottom of screen along the lines of "Function not Available" or something similar... meaning it's not going to work on your car.

Downside is - even if you use the apps to attempt to set/unset them, it still chews up your credits for trying...even though the modification didn't actually do anything.

My vRS had acoustic confirm already activated, and I'll check it tonight, but I think from memory when I was browsing through all the available one-click apps, that one showed up as a "unavailable" one.

Hey :)

It shows as a valid option and when I added it, it said success, even when doing it manually, it showed as active but reset (acoustic confirm.)

The SE Sport has an alarm, as it has the microwave sensors and interior kill switch?

Hmmm... puzzled then !

Does the app not record communication logs which you can send to them for assistance?

The 'apps' within the app have to be unlocked with credits, either accumulated over time or purchased. Because of that it doesn't seem to log what the apps do.

But if you buy the Pro version you can do full adaptations and long coding just like VCDS. That logs the changes that you make and can record full backups. I guess you could send them to the developers, but you'll probably get just as much help by reading the many forum threads about the tweaks themselves.

the changes made by the adaptations and long coding (in OBDeleven) are all logged and are straightforward to understand if a little tedious

Regarding acoustic confirmation - is that the blip sound when you lock and unlock the car? If so, when it's activated isn't it just another option you can then turn on and off via the car's touchscreen? It's in Car - Setup - Opening and Closing I think.

As spinifex said, Australian RSs come with it enabled by default.

In other words, I believe the app isn't enabling the sound, it's enabling the menu option to enable the sound.

And isn't it also a dependency that your car must have alarm?

+1.  I think the app is simply enabling the CHOICE in the infotainment system - you'll still need to go into the settings and tick the box after you've coded it.

And yes, I understand from other forums/threads, that alarm needs to be installed..... as it's the alarm speaker that does the acoustic chirp.

Whilst I need to check if I actually have an alarm, I have all the prerequisites for having one.

I've got the interior monitoring sensors and cut off switch on the pillar.

I've tried both long coding and using the apps but it didn't enable the option within the locking menu on the dash.

Just in case I tried setting it to off, lock, unlock and then both.

Likewise I have refuel quantity enabled (it was already enabled before I tried) and it's not showing.

Other adaptations I done worked so it's just these.
