Any AWS Solutions/Devops here?

Hi,

I'm toying with exploring the solutions/devops side, certification purely to confirm I know what I don't know. So just wondering...

Any AWS professionally certified members?

I'm not moving brisk to aws as it does not need the 'cloud' yet, elements of the new site will be in aws, s3, cloudfront etc.

Just getting my teeth into AWS.

What has favoured you to use AWS over Azure Colin?

I've got a foot in the aws camp already with S3 and SES, oh and a bit of Route 53 and I guess a few others... I was musing over going and getting certified, for AWS of course :P. But wonder if it will open any doors that I'm not actually knocking on.

I think I'd prefer to knock on doors to do guest wifi/portal installs ;) Although car sales is far more logical given where I spend too much time :)

Azure is tempting, but I'm on the outside of the MS stack. Although oddly I'm tempted by a surface thing, then just run ubuntu shell to ssh to servers :) Seems like a nice combination/mix.

If I was doing MS stuff, which might happen given the changes, then I'd consider it. :D So I've not discounted it, I've just not discovered it yet :)

The only kicker to amazon et al is the performance. It's miles away from what I'm getting used to on some providers who are about the same, just not as much depth, QED less confusion too :D
