Tarox Brake Discs

Featured Replies

Anyone using these? I've been offered some at a good price by a suplier I trust (not Demon Tweeks :D)

I know the smart money here use EBC discs from Impreziv, but my only experience with EBC so far has been Greenstuff and Redstuff pads which were utter poo.

What other uprated discs do you recommend?

I know the Godspeed route and am waiting for Ian to come up with a price.

Thanks

Steve

So should I be first then?

Steve

Yep, you'll be the first. I know the feeling. :D

Tarox discs are pretty good by all accounts, shame they don't do their 10 pots for the Octavia (can you believe that the first car they did them for was a Yaris!).

Others to consider, if you can get hold of them, are the Pagid ones.

Audi TT fitment, 312x25.

Cheers mate.

Is Donington still on?

Steve

Assuming wifey is better and I'm not looking after nipper, I'll be there. Failing that, Des is going to take my place as he's taking his dealer up. The dealer wants to see how Octavias go on track and what difference the mods make to the car. I can just see a scoob dealer doing that! :D

Not sure if this is fully relevant but may help so here goes.

Used the EBC discs and pads (green stuff) on an Impreza Turbo 99 4 pot standard brakes.

Pants

Switched to Black Diamond disks and ds2500 pads.

Superb

Why do EBC still make and sell the Green Stuff pads....almost everyone that has used them (well on here anyway) say they're pants! I'm just a bit mistified on this.

I think common concensous rate the DS2500 pads very highly and work well with the EBC discs.

Are these the multi grooves G88 ones?

Avoid them IMHO.... Mine fractured in severla places in 3K miles... and wor thru brake pads at an alarmign rate... Grooves acted like cheese grator.

ATE Power disks had a more pad friendly groove style.
