Windscreen washers

Featured Replies

On a previous thread a lot of people said the washers were rubbish buy I have a different problem.

The washer my side is excellent, putting one jet in the center and two either side. The passenger side however the jets seem to go all over the place.

Are these easily adjustable or is it a visit to the dealer?

Can they be adjusted with a pin?

On mine there is a Torx screw next to the jet nozzle. Can't remember the size and would recommend that you pop off the jet to check - you can also see how the adjustment mechanism works. Poor access when the bonnet is closed and you don't want to ruin the screw head.

I was going to say "as long as your pin looks like a torx screwdriver!" but you beat me to it :D

I'm guessing that it's not like an eyeball in a socket then?

This picture (may not be the exact part) shows the rectangular jet and the adjusting screw

Thanks, that's really useful info.

Do you raise the bonnet and then pop them off? I found it difficult to get access to them with the bonnet opened or closed!

With something like this flexible drive ( the bits are not the standard 1/4" interchangeable hex but a lot smaller) http://cpc.farnell.com/rolson-tools/28296/33pc-precision-screwdriver-set/dp/TL16033 you should be able to adjust in situ. The screw is stiff so make sure the bit is properly engaged.

WARNING! This link (good pictures) says 2mm allen key. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=390609 One of us is wrong!
